18th March, 2016 (Digging down)

by Brendan Strong

Digging down to bury the bodies,
Digging down to bring up the shiny
Things we found, down in the ground,
While digging down to bury the bodies.
Building up the earth we displaced,
Building up the earth for a state
Where we can all live and play,
On top of the hill of earth we displaced.
Preparing then to fight off the others,
Who would surely make us suffer
For taking space and passing a buffer:
With enough shiny we’ll surely be fine,
With enough shiny we’ll buy ourselves time
Before that earth shrugs off our lives.
