February 2nd, 2016 (The election has not been called yet)

by Brendan Strong

As we approach Dublin, I wake –
I wake and see your face –
And see your face –
And again, I see your face.

A future is on its way,
I can tell when I see your face,
And read inspiring slogans: clear and vague
Synopsis of my fate –

Synopsis of my fate –
If elected, you will not make us wait:
Our fate will come straight,
As prophesied in the synopsis of our fates.

We – like you – still await a polling date,
So all these posters on poles are just foreplay:
All we know from intended social corrections,
Is we must surely be ready for a throbbing election.
