A new word

by Brendan Strong

A new word.
Approaching it. Like a kiss from a boy or a girl
That thrills you

Using it (promising never to abuse it)
Sounds rolling from your mouth
Tongue and lips and throat create consonants,
Around vowels.

Rove your eyes across
Letters like landscapes on a page
Here to there: everywhere.

And then.

Years later.

On the Internet.

Words are framed, then defamed
They become cliché
In a matter of days.
