A Fairy

by Brendan Strong

#LibLit Number 3 (for me) A fairy; Callow

More about #LibLit here, on Shannon Wendt’s blog (one of the best named blogs I’ve come across)

She flits from flower to leaf

Her presence only brief

To catch her you must release the grief –

From what they call real life.

But hold her in your mind’s eye –

And she’ll get you through all strife.

She flits from time to time

Through your dreams, into your mind

She reminds you of the magic

That helps you through the tragic.

She is the callow fairy

I like to keep her near me

To forget the cynics and the cruelty

To recall what my daughters teach me.
